Executive Functioning Coaching
Executive Functioning Coaching in California
Helping kids, teens, and adults throughout California build practical skills for daily success.
What is Executive Functioning?
Executive functioning is a set of mental skills that help us manage time, stay organized, plan ahead, remember information, and follow through on tasks. When these skills aren’t working well, everyday life can feel overwhelming — backpacks go missing, homework gets left behind, mornings are chaotic, and small tasks turn into big battles.
Our executive functioning coaching offers hands-on, practical support for building these vital skills in ways that are structured, collaborative, and supportive. Whether you’re a parent of a struggling child or a teen or adult who wants more control over daily tasks, we’re here to help.

Who We Help
Children (ages 6+) who are forgetful, overwhelmed, or have trouble getting ready, following directions, or staying on task.
Teens navigating school demands, growing independence, and competing priorities.
Adults who find themselves chronically disorganized, late, or scattered — even without a formal ADHD diagnosis.
Parents who want to better support their child’s executive functioning or recognize their own challenges and how they impact family dynamics.
Note: For younger children (especially under 8), coaching is often done through the parent, as children this age typically need adult support to apply and maintain strategies.
How Executive Functioning Coaching Works
Our coaching is short-term and highly practical. Sessions are collaborative and hands-on — we don’t just talk about time management; we set up your calendar together. We don’t just brainstorm ways to organize; we clean out the backpack and create a system that works.
We start with a structured executive functioning assessment that looks at areas of strength and challenge. Parents complete a version of this for their child, and older clients complete a self-assessment. This gives us a foundation for building a tailored plan that plays to existing strengths while building support around weaker areas.
From there, coaching sessions may include:
Practicing planning and organizing in real time
Building systems and routines (e.g., for homework, chores, or packing)Working on time awareness and time management
Breaking down larger tasks into manageable steps
Troubleshooting what’s not working and making real-time adjustments
